Further decrease in local COVID-19 active cases

While there was a slight decrease in the number of active Covid-19 cases in the Kouga region towards the end of last week, four more Covid-19 related deaths were recorded.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in Kouga dropped to 206 on 9 January, as per the latest report from the Department of Health.
The breakdown per town was as follows: Jeffreys Bay 87, Humansdorp 65, St Francis 29, Patensie 11, Hankey 10, Loerie 2, Thornhill 1 and Oyster Bay 0.
The cumulative total for the region stood at 5096, including, 4821 recoveries and 90 deaths.
Kouga Mayor Horatio Hendricks expressed his deepest sympathy to those who lost loved ones to the pandemic.
