The proposed new draft Rates By-law and proposed new Property Rates Policy were considered by Council on 13 November 2017. The purpose of the proposed new Property Rates Policy is primarily to facilitate and to provide mechanisms for the introduction of Special Rating Areas and the proposed By-Law to give effect thereto. Jeffreys Bay power interruption on 19 November

The electricity supply to Jeffreys Bay, including Aston Bay and Paradise Beach, will be interrupted for several hours on Sunday, 19 November.

Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Freddy Campher said the shutdown was necessary for new installation work and planned maintenance to be carried out.

The power supply to the whole of Jeffreys Bay will be off from 6am to 6pm on 19 November. The work is subject to the weather, with the alternative date having been set for 26 November.

Campher reminded all residents to treat electrical points as live during this time.
