Municipal offices to close early on Thursday

14 April 2019

ALL Kouga municipal offices will be closing at 12 noon on Thursday, 18 April, for the duration of the Easter weekend.

Corporate Services Portfolio Councillor Bryan Dhludhlu said all essential and emergency services would be on standby to help ensure that locals and residents have a safe and blessed weekend.

“The early closure will also affect paypoints at municipal offices,” he said.

“Our cashiers will be closing at 11am, however, ratepayers will still be able to do account payments online or at our payment partners. We apologise to residents for any inconvenience this may cause.”

He reminded motorists that the Kouga Traffic Department’s offices at both Humansdorp and Hankey would also be closed over the long weekends in April and June.

“Our Traffic offices are usually open on Saturdays to accommodate the high demand for licensing services.

“There are, however, three long weekends coming up and the offices will be closed for their duration, including the Saturdays,” he said.

The relevant dates are Easter Saturday, 20 April, Freedom Day, 27 April, and 15 June, ahead of Youth Day.

He said the Traffic Department would, however, maintain high visibility on the roads to help keep all road users safe.
