Steady decline in local Covid-19 active cases

There has been a significant decline in the number of active Covid-19 cases in the Kouga region.
Active Covid-19 cases totalled 71 on 23 January, according to the latest report from the Department of Health.
This is a significant decrease compared to 13 January when there were 210 active cases.
Sadly, 12 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of deaths to 106.
The breakdown per town, as at 23 January, was as follows: Jeffreys Bay 28, Humansdorp 24, Patensie 7, St Francis 7, Oyster Bay 2, Thornhill 2, Hankey 1 and Loerie 0.
The cumulative total stood at 5292, including, 5115 recoveries.
