Water interruption in Jeffreys Bay

11 June 2015

The water supply to sections of Jeffreys Bay will be interrupted from 16:00 on Wednesday, 17 June 2015, to allow for the repair of a leak on one of the town’s main supply lines.

The areas that will be affected are lower Wavecrest (AD Keet Street and below) and Kabeljous.

Kouga Municipal Manager Sidney Fadi said the repairs would be done throughout the night to minimise inconvenience to residents.

He said that there would be some water in the pipes after the switch-off, but that the water pressure would be very low in some areas while others would have no water.

The municipality expects to complete the repairs in the early morning hours. If there are no delays, the water supply will be fully restored during the course of the morning.

Fadi said that the work was weather-dependent. In the event of bad weather, the work will be done the following week, on 24 June 2015.
