Water restrictions still in place

11 June 2019
As the J'Bay Winterfest draws near, Kouga Municipality has issued a reminder that water restrictions are still in place across the Kouga region, including Jeffreys Bay.
Kouga Mayor Horatio Hendricks appealed to all residents and visitors to use water sparingly.
"Our region was declared a drought disaster area more than two years ago. Very little rain has fallen since and the levels of our storage dams remain low," he said.
"We would, therefore, like to ask all residents and visitors to continue using water wisely over the winter months."
He said the restrictions included a ban on the use of hosepipes.
