KOUGA AUCTION ON 18 OCTOBER KOUGA AUCTION ON 18 OCTOBER

Kouga Municipality will be holding a public auction on 18 October 2017 to dispose of redundant capital assets, including vehicles and computer equipment. The auction will start at 10am at the municipal depot in St Croix Street, J'Bay. Items to be auctioned can be viewed on 17 October between 9am and 4pm.

NEW GENERAL VALUATION ROLL NEW GENERAL VALUATION ROLL

Kouga Municipality is compiling a new General Valuation Roll. The draft roll will be completed by January 2018, following which property owners will have the chance to object should they disagree with the new valuation of their property.

WATER RESTRICTIONS NOW IMPOSED WATER RESTRICTIONS NOW IMPOSED

Kouga has been declared a drought disaster area. Strict water restrictions and steep emergency water tariffs are in place. Residents are encouraged to limit their water use to 60 litres per person per day. Click here to view the list of restrictions.

NEW INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The new Integrated Development Plan for the Kouga municipal area is set to be tabled to the Council for approval on 31 May 2017. The IDP is a five-year plan that sets out the development needs of a municipality's wards. The new IDP for 2017/2022 was compiled in consultation with communities and will be reviewed annually.

MUNICIPAL BUDGET & TARIFFS

The municipality's annual budget and new tariffs for 2017/18 to 2019/2020 is set to be tabled to the Kouga Council for approval on 31 May 2017. The budget is to be implemented from 1 July 2017.
