MANAGER ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

 

REQUIREMENTS:                                   

B Tech Waste Management or B Tech Environmental Health: Specialising in Waste Management;

Minimum of five (5) years’ proven experience in Waste Management or Environmental Management: Specialising in Waste Management, including three (3) years in a supervisory position;

Registration with a relevant Professional Body will be an added advantage;

Code EB driver’s license.

 

SALARY:                               R569 778.63 – R722 625.86 (TCTC excluding Perk Scheme Car Allowance).    

 

DUTIES:                                                

Manage and control the key performance areas and result indicators associated with the development and maintenance of Waste and Environmental Services through:

            • Planning Management
            • Productivity and Performance Management
            • Financial Control
            • Contract Management
            • Operational Management
            • Relationship Management and Communication

Manage and oversee the operations at the Landfill sites and Refuse Collection;

Manage and oversee the coordination of all green awareness and educational projects;

Responsible for all Waste Management related projects to reduce illegal dumping;

Implement plans, legislation, policies, programs and work procedures to meet targets associated with the provision of Environmental Health/ Waste Management and to create awareness and reduce environmental health risk to the public;

Initiate awareness and educational programs to establish:

            • Successful coordination
            • Dissemination of information
            • Monitor, sample and institute investigation processes
            • Identify threats associated with environmental health and environmental management.

Prevent pollution and ecological degradation and promote conservation to secure ecologically sustainable natural resources;

Promote economic and social development through the assessment, monitoring, correction, control and prevention of adverse environmental factors;

Encompass human health, including quality of life by determining physical, chemical, biological, social and psychosocial factors in the environment;

Manage and oversee the provision of Environmental Health Service and to ensure compliance with legislation.
