Keeping Kouga serviced during lockdown

27 April 2020
More than 400 water, sewer and electricity complaints were resolved by Kouga Municipality's essential services staff during the first month of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Kouga Infrastructure and Engineering Portfolio Councillor Bryan Dhludhlu said a total of 137 water faults had been repaired from the start of the lockdown on 27 March to 27 April.
"This included burst pipes, pressure problems and the replacement of faulty meters."
He said a total of 158 sewer-related blockages and breakages had been attended to over the same period and
115 electrical faults repaired.
"We are very grateful to our essential services staff for being out there every day to ensure that our communities have access to basic services during these unprecedented times."
He further encouraged residents to report service faults through the Link service delivery app.
"It's a quick and convenient way to contact the municipality should you wish to request a service or report a fault."
