Rotational loadshedding for KwaNomzamo
Rotational loadshedding may have to be implemented at KwaNomzamo, Humansdorp, in the evenings due to the high demand for power.
This is the warning from Kouga Infrastructure and Engineering Portfolio Councillor, Bryan Dhludhlu.
Dhludhlu said affected residents were urged to switch off all unnecessary appliances and lights, especially during the peak time of 17:30 to 20:30, so as to prevent rotational loadshedding for having to be rolled out.
"If the power usage becomes too high, there is a risk of the system overloading and the electricity to the whole of KwaNomzamo being interrupted," he explained.
"Rotational loadshedding will, therefore, be used to prevent a complete black-out of KwaNomzamo should the power usage become more than the system can handle."
He said all residents were asked to play their part and save power.
