JAM-PACKED EASTER FESTIVAL TO ENTERTAIN WHOLE FAMILY
JEFFREYS BAY will be abuzz with top local performers, action-packed sporting events, loads of stalls, and kids’ entertainment this Easter weekend.
The annual Kouga Easter Festival, set to blow festival-lovers away, will take place at the festival tent at Dolphin Beach in Jeffreys Bay from April 7 to April 8 – with loads of fun for the whole family.
“We are excited to once again host the festival,” said Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks. “Making the event even more special is the platform it creates for local artists and entrepreneurs – in line with the theme: Local is Lekker.
“On numerous occasions, we have witnessed the rich and diverse talent embedded within the Kouga region. With this in mind, we want to dedicate the festival to our local artists – giving them the chance to perform in front of an audience.
“The organisers have, furthermore, put together a fantastic mix of sporting events and entertainment.”
On Friday, April 7, festivalgoers can expect a power-packed line-up of local musicians from 15:40 to 21:00: Honey Katoo, Dave & Therese, Quintes, and Ikna.
Showcasing local talent, the Kouga Mayor’s Talent Show will take to the stage from 12:00, followed by line dancing at 15:00.
On Saturday, April 8, local artists Brian & Cherise, SMYC, Surf Boertjie, and JJ Pieterse will entertain the crowd from 11:00 to 20:00.
The line-up also includes Beach Body Beat at 08:00, the first Bunny Chow Championships at 11:00, and the semi-final round and final round of the Kouga Mayor’s Talent Show at 13:00.
There will, furthermore, be loads of entertainment for the children and various local stalls offering quality goods and scrumptious food.
The Master of Ceremonies for both days is Bradley Goldman.
“We encourage all residents and visitors to come out and enjoy themselves,” said Hendricks.
The event is free.
