Kouga Municipality, in collaboration with local businesses, has established the Panorama Nursery in Humansdorp earlier this year – growing more than just vegetables, it is cultivating community care and environmental change.

With every plant, this initiative nourishes local soup kitchens and helps green the region.

The nursery cultivates a variety of vegetables, including green peppers, lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, beetroot, chili, and cabbage. These fresh produce items are distributed to several soup kitchens across the region, ensuring nutritious meals for those in need.

In addition to its role in food production, the nursery is home to spekboom plants, renowned for their ability to improve air quality and combat climate change. These spekboom plants are being planted throughout the Kouga region, aligning with the municipality’s commitment to environmental preservation and greening initiatives.

Through the Panorama Nursery project, Kouga Municipality continues to demonstrate their dedication to both the well-being of the community and the sustainability of the environment.
