DECK! The halls – and trees, walls, doors, and roof – with boughs of holly . . . Fa la la la it’s Christmas time.

Whether it is colourful lights, Santa Clause, glowing baubles, elves or bright tinsel, help light up Kouga this year.

In a bid to spread holiday cheer, Kouga Municipality invites all residents and local businesses to light up their homes and premises for the festive season.

“There is nothing like Christmas trees, lights and decorations to create a festive vibe,” said Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks. “This will go a long way towards ensuring that the Christmas spirit shines brightly across our regions despite the numerous challenges we face – including the ongoing drought.

“What we would, ultimately, like to achieve is a genuine sense of Christmas across our suburbs and town.”

The municipality will be switching on the festive lights at the main beach in Jeffreys Bay on Saturday, December 10 at 21:00 as part of the official opening o the season.

This will be followed by a firework show at 21:10.
