IT IS TIME FOR COMMUNITIES TO HAVE THEIR SAY

We urge all residents to please fill out the IDP Needs Assessment Form for 2022/2027. This is to determine the top priorities in each ward for the next five years. The closing date for input from residents is at 12:00 on Tuesday, March 8.

TEN viable boreholes will be connected in areas worse affected by the drought to help mitigate the effect of the prolonged drought. This after one more borehole at Jeugkamp in Humansdorp was connected to the existing water treatment works earlier this month.

TAPS in Humansdorp are set to run dry should residents not drastically safe water with immediate effect.

Kouga Municipality has recently joined hands with One Village, a non-profit organisation founded by Sonya Hofler and Evelyn Markides in Jeffreys Bay, in a bid to help empower less fortunate residents. As part of their Mandela Day campaign, the municipality purchased 67 R5 Ticket Books to assist those in need. Each booklet contains 20 tickets valued at R5 each, which recipients can redeem at the One Village Shop in Jeffreys Street – either for a meal or a previously loved item. INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN DEADLINE EXTENDED : REVIEW PERIOD 2021/22

Residents and stakeholders have been invited to submit inputs and comments on the Kouga Municipality’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for the 2020/ 2021 financial year. The date for inputs and comments have been extended and residents and stakeholders now have until Friday, 12 March 2021 to submit comments.

Geyser project completed

The Kouga Municipality and Eskom’s geyser control project, currently being implemented in Humansdorp, St Francis Bay and Jeffreys Bay to help manage electricity demand during evening peak time, has been completed successfully.
