Back to School drive

KOUGA municipal staff would like to make the new year less nerve-wrecking for children whose caregivers cannot afford to buy everything they need for school.

The Kouga Back to School Campaign was launched by the municipality's Special Projects Unit in November.

The campaign calls on all staff to donate school shoes, uniforms, bags, books, stationery and other essential supplies.

The donations will be distributed to children in need of assistance early in the new year. Beneficiaries will be identified in partnership with local schools and the Department of Social Development.

Residents are invited to participate in the campaign as well. Donations can be placed in boxes that have been placed at the main municipal units at Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Hankey and Patensie.
