Finance MEC Phumulo Masualle joined Kouga Mayor Booi Koerat in Jeffreys Bay on Friday, 20 April, to present the Eastern Cape Provincial Job Strategy to local stakeholders. The presentation was one of eight preparatory information-sharing meetings being held ahead of the Eastern Cape Job Strategy Summit, set to take place in May. The preliminary target of the strategy, based on five strategic pillars, is to create 150 000 new jobs by 2014. The five pillars are jobs retention, new jobs, social economy, economic infrastructure and skills development.
