Emerging business people gathered at the Kouga Cultural Centre last week (October) for an SMME Imbizo.
The Imbizo, called the Rural Outreach Focus, was jointly organised by Kouga Municipality and SEDA Nelson Mandela Bay and specifically targeted small, medium and micro enterprises.
The purpose of the event was to inform existing and aspiring SMMEs, entrepreneurs and cooperatives how stakeholders such as Kouga Municipality, SEDA and others can be of assistance to them.
Oliphant urged his audience not always to target the obvious and already over-populated business ventures such as catering when there is a sea of opportunities to be explored.
Among other stakeholders that joined SEDA for presentations were the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Sarah Baartman District Municipality and the Department of Trade and Industry.
