Matrics enter the home stretch

A message from Kouga Speaker Magdalene Dlomo

MATRIC pupils have reached the halfway mark of their final school exams.

On behalf of the Kouga Council, I would like to wish our local matriculants all the best as they enter the home stretch of their school careers.

By now, you already have a few exams under the belt. You may have found that you really struggled with some of them, but do not be discouraged and do not dwell on the past. Keep your focus on the present and the exams that lie ahead. You cannot fix what went wrong yesterday, but you can work on preventing similar mistakes in the days ahead.

A special thank you to teachers, parents and communities for the support you’ve given our matrics thus far. Let us continue showing them we care and providing them with a safe and quiet place to do their final preparations.

We look forward to seeing this year’s matric results and trust they will show an improvement on the previous year’s. However, there are going to be matrics who do not make it for a variety of reasons. I would like to urge communities to support them through this disappointment. Reach out to them, don’t allow them to fall into depression and remind them that they will have another chance.
