Repair of causeway recommences

FLOOD-related repairs to the causeway between Paradise Beach and Aston Bay are expected to recommence next week.

The causeway will be closed for the duration of the work.

The repairs were initially scheduled to start in February but were postponed due to environmental processes.

Kouga Municipal Manager Sidney Fadi said it was envisaged that the contractor would commence with repairs after the school holidays in the second week of April.

“We expect the work to be completed by the beginning of June 2013, depending on weather conditions and any unforeseen delays,” he said. “We once again wish to apologise for the delay and for any inconvenience caused during the repair process.”
