Ward committee elections near completion

THE election of ward committees in Kouga is in full swing.

Ward committees are an important communication link between residents, ward councillors and the municipality.

On Monday, October 3, residents and interest groups from Patensie, Weston and the Rooidraai area are invited to join their ward councillor, Vuyelwa Matodlana, at the Weston Community Hall for the election of ward 13’s ward committee.

Residents of Aston Bay, Paradise Beach and Tokyo Sexwale will join their ward councillor, Timothy Meleni, to elect their new ward committee on Tuesday, October 4, at the Victory 4 All hall.

The ward committee for ward 15, which includes Ocean View and sections of Humansdorp, will be elected at the Victory 4 All hall on Wednesday, October 5. The ward councillor is Eric Mahlatini.

On Thursday, October 6, clr Patrick Kota will be at the Dan Sandhi Hall in Ramaphosa Village for the election of the ward committee for ward 10.

The ward committee for ward 15, which includes Ocean View and sections of Humansdorp, will be elected at the Victory 4 All hall on Wednesday, October 5. The ward councillor is Eric Mahlatini.

The final two committees will be elected the following week. Clr Bulelwa Koliti will be at the Thornhill Hall on Tuesday, October 11, for the election of the ward committee for ward 7.

Clr Luks Ntshiza will be at the Vusumzi Landu Hall in Hankey on Wednesday, October 12, for the election of the ward committee for ward 9.

All meetings start at 6pm. All stakeholders and interest groups are encouraged to attend.

Committees have already been elected for wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11 12.
