Erection Of Security Fencing And The Installation Of Access Gates: Humansdorp Landfill Site

Tenders are invited from prospective and suitable service providers for the erection of security fencing and the installation of access gates at the Humansdorp Landfill Site.

The Landfill Site is situated adjacent to the industrial area in a northerly direction and form part of Erf 499.

Specifications

Fencing

• The fence shall be approximately 851meters in length with rolled razor mesh (coiled) on top.
• The poles shall be made of steel and at least five (5) meters apart with horizontal and vertical wires in between.
• The poles shall be 2.1 meters in height.
• All corner poles to be concreted with 50 mpa
• All 5 meter standard poles to be concreted with 25 mpa
• All vertical wires shall be at least 75mm apart and all horizontal wires at least 12mm apart
• The wire diameter shall 4mm
• The vertical wires shall be welded on either side of the horizontal wires
• All poles, mesh, wires relevant material in use shall be hot dipped galvanized in accordance with SANS.
• The poles shall be embedded into a concrete foundation to a depth of at least 250 mm

Gates

• The gates shall be sliding gates, made of solid steel plates with a minimum thickness of 45 micron and fitted with locking devices
• The gates shall be 1.6 meters in width and 2.1 meters high
• The gap between the bottom the gate and the road surface shall not exceed 50 meters.

Tender Documentation

Tender documents will be available from registry office 33 Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay at a non refundable cost of R100 per document and bidders are expected to supply complete detail and specifications of the equipment on offer.

Completed tender documents with detailed specification where necessary in sealed envelopes, must be deposited in the Tender Box of the Kouga Municipality at 33 Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay and should be clearly marked “Contract No: 3/2010 : Erection of Security Fencing and installation of Access Gates” not later than 12:00 on Friday 5 March 2010, after which the tenders will be opened in public.

Please note that a site meeting will be held on 19 February 2010 at the Traffic Building, Heugh Street Humansdorp. A compulsory attendance register should be signed at the meeting Prospective tenderers who do not attend the meeting will be automatically disqualified

Tenderers should take note of the following tender conditions:

1. An original and valid Tax Clearance Certificate must accompany the tender.
2. Tenderers must submit a valid BEE certificate and can contact 041-581 3031 to arrange for a certificate.
3. Bidders may suggest or provide financing options in relation to the erection and installation of the fencing and gate.
4. The tenders are valid for a period of three (3) months from the closing date.
5. The Procurement Policy and Supply Chain Management Policy of the Kouga Municipality will apply. This tender will be evaluated in terms of the 90/10 preference point scoring system namely:
