FACILITATOR POSITIONS
Kouga – a safe, equitable and harmonious home, with prosperous and sustainable livehoods for its people is inviting applications from all interested unemployed and permanent Kouga residents to apply for the 3 positions as AET Program Facilitators on a two year contract.
AET PROGRAM FACILITATORS (3 POSITIONS)
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Computer Certificate
- Preference will be given to a person with facilitation/education background
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete the AET Attachment 2 Entry Assessment to be eligible for consideration to be appointed.
General Conditions:
- Applicants must be able to speak two (2) of the official languages of Kouga (Afrikaans, English & Xhosa)
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Kouga Municipality
- Successful candidates shall be required to attend training sessions for AET programme for 2 (two) weeks before commencement of the programme.
- Candidate must specify the Unit applying for:
e.g. 1. Jeffreys Bay
2. Gamtoos Valley or
- Humansdorp and St Francis Bay
Remuneration: R5, 500.00 per month
Contract: 2 years
Duties and Responsibilities;
- The position necessitates sound practical knowledge and experience of facilitation, training and related services to the employees of Kouga Municipality.
- The Facilitator shall provide facilitation, training and related services to the employees of Kouga Municipality, using the Media Works material and methodology, as mutually agreed between Media Works, Kouga Municipality and the Facilitator.
- In this position the Facilitator will report to the Skills Development Section.
The Facilitator shall directly report;
- Attendance of students,
- Hours of work,
- Challenges and/or problems encountered,
- Exam results,
- Administrative issues between the Facilitator and Media Works,
- Relationship between Kouga Municipality and Media Works,
- All areas required by the monthly facilitator report, which may change from time to time.
- The Facilitator will be obliged to facilitate AET training programme for Kouga Municipality employed Learners only.
- To market the programme to the employees of Kouga Municipality.
- To attend at the Training Centre premises from 07:30 to 16:15 from Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 15:00 Friday.
- The Facilitator must adhere to the days and times for the facilitation sessions.
- Prepare facilitation material and equipment prior to the delivery of each facilitation sessions
- Ensure that the learners’ attendance register is kept and signed by the learners.
- Ensure that the learners complete every lesson and maintain 80% for workbook activities for each lesson.
- Monitor the progress of each learner by inspection of workbooks and with the aid of the computer administration system.
- Provide remedial and extension work, as and where necessary.
- Submit his/her log sheet and monitoring report on/before the 20th of each month (if applicable)
- To guide the learner through the material, while at the same time empowering the learner with ability to continue learning
- To help the learner to make the necessary connections that will lead to effective learning that can be applied to other situations
- To liaise with Skills Development Section and Media Works to ensure that each learner is properly equipped for the learning process
- To assist with registration of the learners for exams.
- The Facilitator must report any technical problems to the Skills Development Section and Media Works help desk immediately, and follow-up to ensure that the problem has been dealt with.

A comprehensive Curriculum (CV), certified copies of qualifications and identity document must accompany the application.
Sealed application forms marked “AET FACILITATORS”, must reach the Directorate: Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation (Skills Development Section) at the Municipal Offices, at St’ Croix Street, Technical Services Office on or before Friday 28 August 2015 at 12:00.
