CHIEF NETWORK SERVER & GOVERNANCE SUPPORT ENGINEER
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum, National Diploma NQF L6;
- Must have driver’s license code B
- Must have experience in Cloud Data Centre (AWS or Azure or Huawei or all of them) Hyper-V
- Must have 2 years' experience in SDWAN (Cisco)
- Must have experience in HP Aruba (configuration)
- Must have experience in supporting O365 suite
- Must have experience in Azure AD support
- Must have experience in CCTV systems administration
- Must have experience with Wi-fi networks (Radius Server)
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity tools and processes
- Supervisory experience minimum 2 years
- Sound communication skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Must be able to perform in a very stressful environment
- Must be able to work fast, accurately & deliver good quality work
- Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).

SALARY: R507 709.73 – R658 999.71 per annum

DUTIES:
- Ensure stable infrastructure
- Implement corrective measure to improve productivity and efficiency of ICT tools
- Defining role boundaries and workflow processes against laid down service delivery requirements and statutory regulations including priorities.
- Determining staffing levels and preparing motivations for filling vacancies to complete functional objectives and requirements.
- Monitoring the adequacy of current training interventions through the evaluation of competency demonstrated in the workplace applications, conducting specific courses through the skills development programme.
- Analyzing statistical information pertaining to staff attendance, overtime, leave and addressing deviations or occurrences of abuse/ or workplace conflict through implementation of corrective measures in accordance with Human Resource Policies and Procedures and Codes of Good Practice and Employment Legislation.
- Communicating with personnel, through verbal and written mediums, statutory and procedural requirements for adoption and to authorize personnel to conduct audits to determine compliance.
- Discussing and/or investigating workplace accidents/incidents, seeking reasons from supervisory personal and any non-compliance/deviation and providing direction on remedial courses of action for execution.
- Analyzing operating requirements to establish/determine funding/ expenditure for the period
- Evaluating and addressing deviations/ variances.
- Implementing corrective measures to rectify deviations/ acts contrary to financial regulations, financial audit requirements and departmental procedure.
- Mapping out, implementing and monitoring response plans procedures and/or developing/revising contingency plans.
- Take over responsibility at highly technical IT Projects that are large and accountability for the performance and achievement of corporate business service objectives through the effective leadership of functional intervention plans and/ or teams.
- Monitoring the execution and application of plans during callouts/ calls logged on the helpdesk system, through the examination of reports and conducting of on-the-spot investigations and, attending to deviations and/or determining the need for review of standard operating procedures
- Guiding personal on specific applications during incidents with a view to ensure high standards tasks and implementation of the approved standard operating procedures.
- Developing and implementing policies, standard operating procedures and behavior guidelines and strategies in the department.
- Ensure departmental asset register is maintained and monitored as per council policies.
- Manage, maintain and monitor planned preventative maintenance programmes for Assets in conjunction with the IT Technical Support service
- Preparing reports with information, activities and progress made regarding implementations and interventions forwarding to Manager ICT
- Interacting internally and externally, participating in formal meetings with to provide critical information and requirements pertaining to ICT service in the municipal environment, attending to and reporting on constrains and challenges the implantation of proper operational plans.
- Verify recording, consolidating and maintaining financial schedules for movable/immoveable assets and inventory items within the department.
- Approving requisitions/ procedural forms and for further processing.
- Monitor the efficiency of IT systems and align specific sequences to facilitate compliance with internal requirements.
- Design and deploy organization LANs, WANs, and WLANs, including routers, hubs, switches, UPSs and other hardware
- Conduct research on network products, service, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry in support of network procurement and development efforts.
- Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades relating to network or telephony equipment.
- Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components.
- Where necessary. Liaise with equipment vendors during installations and hardware performance issues.
- Design and deploy enterprise-class wireless networks, including access points, servers, routers, hubs, switches, and other hardware.
- Consults with Business Units within the Institution and performs needs analyses, evaluates requirements, recommends designs, provides cost analyses, plans, projects, and coordinates tasks for installation of high-speed data networks.
- Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting the internal computer network, including planning and other activities reserved for the most complex network issues
- Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
- Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions
- Data Backups on Linux and Windows Servers
- Virtualization Machine maintenance
- Ensuring the Disaster Recovery Site are operational
- Do periodic tests to ensure that DR System is functional · Deploying and monitoring of Anti-Virus software on all client computers
- Replacing and repairing faulty components
- Creating User Accounts
- Doing AD Backups
- Configuring Group Policies
- Configuring and Maintaining the WSUS deployment System
- Ensuring all computers are updated with Patches, Firmware & Service Packs.
- Ensuring the Anti-Virus program are updated
- Publishing various info as received from departments
- Maintaining the intranet site, category creation and user support
- Ensuring that the Website is always functional
- Ensuring that the information on the website is updated within 1 day of receipt of updated information from relevant stakeholders.
- Doing Content Management and Security for Web Site
- Web Site Statistics Report to IT Manager
- Ensuring that the Intranet is always functional
- Ensuring that the information on the intranet is updated within 1 day of receipt of updated information from relevant stakeholders.
- Doing Content Management and Security for intranet
- Ensuring that the relevant access has been granted per user
- Ensuring that only current employees have access to the Intranet
- Ensuring that all users have access to the Internet as specified and approved by their relevant Manager on the completed Application for ICT Resources Form.
- Checking that access to restricted Internet Sites is implemented e.g. Facebook
- Attending to escalated calls logged on the help desk system
- Delivering level 3 technical support to server related logged calls on the help desk system
- Creating User account on the exchange cloud Environment
- Creating mailboxes on users' machines
