CHIEF TOWN PLANNER: SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGIC PLANNING
REQUIREMENTS:
- Tech or bachelor’s degree in Town & Regional Planning (NQF Level 7)
- Registered with SACPLAN
- Code B driver’s license
- Minimum 5 Years relevant experience
- Computer literacy
- Sound knowledge of Town and Regional Planning, GIS and IDP planning processes and Local Government Sector processes
- Sound knowledge of research and analytical theories and practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Attentive to detail
- Drive and tenacity to lead a senior multi-disciplinary team during IDP and Town Planning processes
- Monitoring of performance
- Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).
SALARY: R614 487.75 – R797 775.150 Per Annum
TASK: 15
DUTIES:
- Identifies and defines the immediate, short and long-term objectives/ plans associated with the Spatial Development & Strategic Planning functionality;
- Keep abreast with developments and legislative imperatives supporting economic development and community improvement;
- Facilitate the development and review of the Spatial Development Framework, including participation and providing of professional guidance and preparation of the SDF;
- Present a conceptual framework and action plans of current and future Spatial Development & Strategic Planning Interventions;
- Control the Key Performance Indicator’s and outcomes of personnel within the department;
- Prepare and report on capital and operating estimates and control expenditure against the approved budget allocations;
- Control the planning and operational efficiency of specific approaches associated with the delivery of core services associated with the functionality;
- Disseminate functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long-term objectives and current developments, problems and constraints;
- Implement specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality.
