MUNICIPAL MANAGER

 

Kouga Municipality, an equal opportunity employer, hereby invites applications from experienced, suitable, qualified and committed individuals for the position of Municipal Manager, stationed at the Municipal Offices, Jeffreys Bay on a five (5) year performance based contract.

Competency requirements:           Bachelor Degree in Public Administration / Political Sciences / Social Sciences / Law; or equivalent, Certificate in Municipal Finance Management (SAQA ID: 48965).

 

Five (5) yeas experience at a senior management level, proven successful institutional transformation in the public or private sector.

Must have a demonstrable advanced knowledge and understanding of the following:

 

In terms of the provisions of the Regulations of the appointment of Senior Mangers applicants must have the following Leading and Core Competencies:

            Core Competencies:

Core focus areas:    Financial Management and Viability, Institutional Development and Transformation, Good Governance and Public Participation, Infrastructure and Basic Service Delivery, Local Economic Development.

Remuneration:          The remuneration package shall be based on the provisions of the Upper Limits of the Total Remuneration Package payable to Municipal Managers and Managers directly accountable to Municipal Managers.

Specific provisions:  The Kouga Municipal Council requires that the successful candidate shall reside in Jeffreys Bay after appointment and as such shall assistance be given with relocation costs.

Please note that only applications on the prescribed application form for Senior Mangers submitted with a Curriculum Vitae and certified copies of academic qualifications, Identity Document and Driver’s License shall be considered. Qualification verification, employment background checks and security vetting shall be performed on all short listed candidates. Candidates selected at interview shall be required to attend a formal two day competency assessment in Port Elizabeth at their own cost.
