PLATOON OFFICER: FIRE PREVENTION AND TRAINING

REQUIREMENTS:                                   

Diploma in Fire Technology NQF 6;

Must be in possession of a valid code C drivers license (code 10);

Fire Fighter 1 and hazmat awareness;

Fire Fighter 2 and hazmat operational;

BAA (Basic Ambulance Assistant Course and register with HPCSA);

Five (5) years relevant Fire and Rescue experience;

SALARY:                                               R230 844.00 – R299 640.00 per annum

DUTIES:                                                

Co-ordinate fire prevention operations;

Co-ordinate fire inspections (buildings and all types of premises);

Verify building plans and the installation of sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems and other fire protection devices and equipment in accordance with National Building Regulations;

Provide technical advice to other directorates, consultants, and contractors;

Assist the community with evacuation plans, take part in community education, evacuation and exit drills;

Issue of permits related to fire prevention functions.
