SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
REQUIREMENTS:
- B-Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, minimum NQF Level 6.
- 2 years’ relevant experience in IT networking.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).
SALARY: R 473 465.38 - R 614 587.75 per annum
TASK: 13
DUTIES:
- Keeping abreast with technological developments in the information management systems technology and communications environment with specific emphasis on improving performance of systems, applications and tools (Electronic Surveillance Systems).
- Analyzing and aligning system requirements with operating capacity and capability through liaison with system vendors
- Presenting a conceptual framework of current and future ICT systems interventions necessary to achieve acceptable levels and standards of service delivery for consideration and inclusion into the department’s short/ long-term performance and service delivery plans.
- Aligning current system procedures to satisfy legislative requirements with respect to acquisition processes, software development and computer and peripheral devices asset control.
- Interpreting and analyzing audit findings and investigational reports with a view to determining levels of systems interventions required to improve procedural applications.
- Evaluating the adequacy of end user support structures for various systems and attending to the implementation of corrective measures to address deviations from norm in respect of response time.
- Monitoring system performance and executing specific procedural applications to commence upgrades and/or routine maintenance of user system, networks and servers.
- Assessing the operating capacity of specific and/ or compatibility of specific user systems with respect to the installation of new applications based on functional needs and attending to the implementation sequence.
- Establishing training needs with respect to specific applications and executing procedural requirements to facilitate the capability of users on the relevant systems.
- Coordinating the set-up and implementation of Forums to serve as avenue to facilitate functional information and receive comment.
- Participating in various meetings (council, internal and external forums) and provides comments/ opinions on matters affecting or concerning the functionality.
- Responding, through the collection of information and/or conducting the necessary investigation/ research, to enquiries and concerns on service delivery from the customer base.
