Pauper Burials

The Kouga Municipality is awaiting quotes for the supply of pauper coffins, the layout of corpses and the burial of the coffin.

Completed quotes must meet the following requirements:

1. A fixed cost for a pauper burial.
2. The fixed cost must include value added tax.
3. A tax clearance certificate must be attached.
4. The quoted amount must include the collection of the pauper corpse within the jurisdiction of Kouga Municipality.
5. The cost for the digging and covering of the grave must be included in the quote.
6. Should the pauper corpse be outside of Kouga Municipality, a fixed cost for every kilometer must be supplied.
7. Service providers must indicate which days are convenient for funerals (burials).
8. The quote will be valid for a fixed period of 12 months
9. Council may choose another service provider, should they be unsatisfied with services rendered.
10. Service providers must be registered as funeral undertakers and fully compliant to legislation.

Completed quotes must be handed in at the Registry Section, Kouga Municipality, Jeffreys Bay on Friday, 13 November 2009 before 12:00 in a sealed envelope, marked Pauper Burials.
