FINANCIAL OFFICER: SERVICES
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant NQF Level 5 Book-keeping Certificate;
- Computer Literacy – Office applications;
- 1 year relevant experience;
- Knowledge of revenue procedures;
- Attention to detail;
- Good communication skills;
- Good computer skills;
- Must be able to speak, read and write in at least two of the official languages in Kouga Municipality (Afrikaans, English, and Xhosa).

SALARY: R157 036.27 – R203 856.80 Per Annum.
TASK: 6
DUTIES:
- Provides administrative support in respect of validation of accounts/ clerical tasks associated with queries and services;
- Checking the accuracy of details recorded on transactional documentation and updating work in progress information/ data on specific applications/ systems of the department.
- Capturing meter readings on a daily basis, validating debit/ credit accounts, adjusting accounts and processing journal entries and transfers.
- Attending to the arranging and organizing of meters by changing the dial size, remove/ replace meters, installing and changing of meters and meter numbers.
- Reporting meters advancing on disconnected accounts in order to link and charge to owner to prevent loss of revenue, and estimating accounts when no reading is available.
- Attending to queries given by meter readers and reporting of all faulty meters.
- Checking for illegal electricity / water meters reading on disconnected meters.
- Attending to work related queries from sub sections related to incorrect recording (queries of accounts, disconnection/ reconnections).
- Attending to specific correspondence/ telephonic enquiries, communicating, assisting and providing routine information and/ or referring queries for attention;
- Referencing source documentation and reports to facilitate retrieval;
- Updating files with current and relevant information pertaining to the administrative activities;
- Communicating with the supervisor on workflow and processes and problems encountered.
