A delegation of ten students from the Kehl University of Applied Sciences in Germany (also known as the Mayor’s Forge) visited Kouga Local Municipality last week as part of their educational tour of South Africa. Facilitated by the Special Programmes Unit within the Office of the Executive Mayor, Mishka Pillay and Sandiso Mlonyeni, and led by Professor Fieguth Gert, the two-day visit aimed to provide the students with practical insights into public administration, complementing their academic studies with real-world experiences.

Kouga-munisipaliteit neem daadwerklike stappe om agterstallige skuld met die volle implementering van sy Beleid op Kliëntediens, Kredietbeheer en Skuldinvordering met ingang 1 Mei 2024, aan te spreek. In ooreenstemming met Artikel 6.1 van dié beleid beoog die munisipaliteit om prosedures in te stel wat die toename van agterstallige skuld beperk en  fiskale verantwoordelikheid en volhoubaarheid te verseker.

Kouga Municipality is taking decisive action to address arrear debts effectively with the full implementation of its Customer Care, Credit Control, and Debt Collection Policy, effective 1 May 2024. In line with Section 6.1 of the Customer Care, Credit Control, and Debt Policy, the municipality aims to implement procedures that curb the escalation of arrear debt, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
